My Story

back to home

I grew up in Indonesia, surrounded by the rich traditions of textiles and crafts. From an early age, I was drawn to the colors, patterns, and textures that could be created from fiber. These influences continue to shape my practice today, as I explore the intersections of tradition, experimentation, and personal expression.

Currently, I am pursuing my BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC), where I focus on Fiber and Material Studies. My work combines weaving, felting, fabric manipulation, and sculptural forms, often reflecting themes of memory, comfort, identity, and connection to place.

Through my practice, I aim to honor the heritage of Indonesian textiles while also pushing materials in new directions where I experiment with color, structure, and texture to create works that feel both deeply personal and universally resonant.
